The World Finals centers on Closed Course Racing, Slalom Racing, and Freestyle Competition. In Closed Course Racing, personal watercrafts dash toward a first turn buoy and then navigate several laps through a buoy course. In Slalom Racing, riders maneuver through a buoy course with the fastest time winning. In the Freestyle competition, athletes perform tricks and stunts during a one- or two-minute routine that is scored by judges.
