Gary Whittaker entered his first race at the age of 16 in 2007, Jet Around Cayman, an offshore 58-mile-long race around the Cayman Islands. He took an impressive second place in the Rookie class. Since that time Gary has snagged 16 podium finishes and several national and world titles including East End Surf Challenge 2015 1st Pro Open; 2015 CIWA National Tour 2nd Expert Open, 2017 CIWA National Tour Champion Expert Open, and 2017 IJSBA World Finals 7th Expert Limited just to name a few.

Fitness Training Regimen:
I try to get as much seat time as I can on my race ski or stock boat which is similar to my race ski. I feel that seat time is the best practice a rider could get!
- Monday: Legs strength training plus rectus abdominis (front abs) and obliques; 20 minutes cardio
- Tuesday: Chest strength training and core abs no cardio
- Wednesday: Back plus rectus abdominis (front abs) and obliques; 20 minutes cardio
- Thursday: Shoulders strength training; core abs; no Cardio
- Friday: Arms strength training (biceps and triceps) plus rectus abdominis (front abs) and obliques;20 minutes cardio
- Saturday: Day OFF
- Sunday: Day OFF Sometimes seat time on race boat
Race Tip: Ride as consistently as you can when racing, try and find the fastest lines on the track as soon as possible!
